About
My professional journey began as a Civil Engineer and then continued as a Transportation Engineer focusing on highway design, traffic engineering, safety and human factors. I have had opportunities to work for global private consultants as well as public agencies and universities in the US. I have the honor to serve on a number traffic safety advisory committees and panels, and editorial boards of highly reputed technical journals. Currently, I am a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University (ASU).
Several technical papers authored/co-authored by me have been published in world-class peer-reviewed journals and other publications. Numerous road safety awareness articles came out in newspapers and magazines.
I try some creative writing, e.g., poems, short stories, features, interviews of celebrities and achievers. Many of my works have been published in newspapers and magazines in English and Bengali (a very rich Indian language). It's my passion, not profession. Still photography is my other passion. Self-taught. Every moment, we miss zillions of great opportunities around us. After I am done with my regular job that pays my bills and other household chores, I take my photography gear and head outdoors. Some of my still photographs are available at Getty Images, Shutterstock and Alamy. I am also a Storm Spotter (not Chaser) for National Weather Service Phoenix. |
